KK’s practice areas include cybersecurity, data protection, technology, employment, and private client advisory. Before joining the Bar, he spent close to 25 years in separate roles with global MNCs, listed entities, and the Singapore Government. He is a graduate of the University of Texas (Austin), Monash University Law School (Australia), National University of Singapore (Law Faculty) and Wealth Management Institute (NTU). He is also an affiliate member of STEP. He holds multiple technical qualifications and professional memberships in information security and audit. Whilst as Founding Chair of the Cybersecurity and Data Protection Practice Committee of the Law Society of Singapore, he led the Committee in developing the Cybersecurity Practice Guide for lawyers as well as developing the Cybersecurity Guide for charities in Singapore for the Commissioner of Charities, Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth (MCCY).

  • Represented a disabled party on a pro-bono basis against two hospitals' medical recommendations and raised the accident insurance pay-out to multiple times from the original award.

Technical Advisory Board

Objective

The Technical Advisory Board ("Board") provides guidance and strategic input based on the Board members' respective backgrounds and expertise to Clayton Law LLC, so as to meet the needs of its clients. The practice of technology law in cybersecurity, data protection, blockchain, digital asset protection, software contracting, compliance and audit is cross-disciplinary in nature and applicable across different industries and entities.

Prof Abu Bakar Munir is an internationally renowned scholar and consultant on cyber security, data protection, digital services, and space technology laws. Professor Munir was formerly from the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya, till 2008. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M), University of Warwick, U.K, Bachelor of Law (LL.B) (Hons), University of Malaya, Malaysia; and Diploma in Public Administration (DPA), University of Technology MARA, Malaysia. During his tenure at the Faculty, including being Dean, he has received 6 Excellent Service Awards from the University. He is the author of 9 publications on his expert subject matters and countless chapter authors of multiple publications.

Meng Chow has been a practising information security professional for over 30 years spanning across different roles and responsibilities, from technical services to management advisory roles. He consolidated his experiences a book, Responsive Security – “Be Ready To Be Secure", published by CRC Press in Oct 2013. He worked previously in various senior positions in information security with the Ministry of Defence (Singapore) , Standard Chartered Bank, Microsoft, CISCO (China) and Amazon Services.

Meng-Chow received his MSc degree in Information Security from the Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London, and completed his PhD in Information Security Risk Management at the Southern Cross University, Australia. He has also been a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) since 1998.
